“If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand hold me. If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will cover me, and the light about me be night,’ even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as day, for darkness is as light with you.” – Psalm 139:9-12
Something about the picture of taking the wings of the morning has always intrigued me. I think of the darkness surrounding me just before the first signs of dawn peek over the horizon. Waiting to reach out and grasp those beams of light, then holding on as they soar upward and outward – stretching out like a blanket across the sky, obliterating the dark night in a glorious array of color.
Can you feel the anticipation as you wait to take hold of a sunbeam? The excitement of being pulled into the light? The joy and wonder of flying with it as it breaks through the darkest moments and explodes into colors you could never seem to recreate??
There’s a God waiting to share His joy with you. Waiting to be invited into your darkness so He can dazzle you with His light. Wanting you to step into relationship with Him so the darkness in your life will disappear as you keep your eyes on Him. He is pursuing you. Will you seek Him out?
